The theme of population protection nowadays is very actual. It shows, that the average citizen of the Czech Republic is not able to protect his property, health nor life in the case of an emergency. This thesis examines on the readiness of the population in the case of accidents involving hazardous chemical substances in the past and nowadays and offers a comparison with other countries. The main part focuses on the guide for protection against hazardous chemical substances, according to which even an uninitiated person can orientate in the crisis situation and respond accordingly.

Main content of this thesis is safety and protection of the critical infrastructure. It describes the history of the critical infrastructure in United States of America, European Union and in the Czech Republic. It describes the individual elements of critical infrastructure and the possible extraordinary events that threaten these elements. It explains basic terms from area safety and protection of the critical infrastructure and describes relevant laws. It evaluates safety and protection of critical infrastructure and proposes some possibilities for improvement the situation in the area.

Role of the Police of the Czech Republic in the System of Crisis Management

This bachelor paper which is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical - brings out involvement of Police of the Czech Republic into the system of our state´s crisis management. Theoretical part is turned to the questions of crisis management, joint rescue system and to the tasks subserved within this system by Police of the Czech Republic, namely with inclusion of gadgetry serving for securing of this security organization´s crisis preparedness. Practical part more closely describes working and organizational structure of concrete police crisis management departement. Analysis of this departement´s working subserves as the base for concluding valuation of police crisis departements´ contribution to functional service.

Mobile Application "Paramedic doggy" - Unexpected Event

The aim of this thesis is to design and implement a simple educational mobile application for children which, in the form of a game, shows how to proceed in a model emergency situation (train accident). Firstly, the thesis describes general principles of providing first aid in an emergency situation as well as its training. Secondly, the thesis clarifies characteristic features of educational digital games, analyses already existing solutions and describes Unity game engine. Based on information acquired so far, the educational game is designed and implemented in Unity. The method and the results of the testing are presented in the conclusion. The final version of the game is ready for publishing.

Basic Aspects of Population Protection against Consequences of Chemical Terrorism in the Czech Republic

The theme of my bachelor work is The basic aspect of population protection against conseqences of chemical terrorism in the Czech Republic. In my bachelor work, I drew from home and foreign sources over the past ten years. The opening part of my work deals of basic concepts relating to terrorism and its branches. It states some case studies of terrorist attacks against civil inhabitants with the aid of chemical agents. The middle part engages in a characteristic and dividing of particular chemical warfare agents and dangerous toxic chemical agents. There are stated lawful norms and measures used in the Czech Republic. Also processes of medical sectors Emergency Rescue System in provision of pre-hospital urgent care in cases of mass impairment of health. In closing I analyse preparedness of inhabitants in the Czech Republic to possibility of a chemical terrorist attack and I suggest a handbook „The danger of a chemical attack“ to civil inhabitants.

Evalution of Fire Rescue Service Responses in Traffic Accidents in the South Moravia Region

The dissertation deals with the road accident interventions carried out by Fire fighting units and emphasizes average adjustments as well as the problems of forensic engineering. Within the Southern Moravia region, it analyses the statistical data of the Fire Rescue Brigade of the Czech Republic with relation to the road accident interventions, and it analyses the position of the individual units of the Fire Rescue Brigade of the Southern Moravia in the above system. The dissertation discusses relation between the forensic engineering and the Fire Rescue Brigade of Czech Republic and stresses the possibilities of cooperation.

T-SOFT company developed EMOFF – information system for support of crisis management, which is unique not only in Czech republic, but also in Europe. EMOFF facilitates work and tasks of crisis managers. Professional literature and information of EMOFF are very limited or do not exist, therefore this work describes the system and creates manual of EMOFF, focused on work,usability, weaknesses and strengths of the system.

Safety of facilities in emergency situations

This diploma thesis focuses on ways to ensure safety in case of extraordinary events in the company Skanska Inc. The introductory part of the thesis deals with the description of related issues, including legislation. The next section presents an emergency plan prepared to protect the property and lives and health of persons in a particular object in case of identified extraordinary events, based on risk assessment, and proposed solutions to eliminate these adverse events.

Author of the thesis deals with analysis of issues of crisis communication in Czech companies. The thesis includes theoretical information which is also support for risk analysis process of crisis communication. The goal of this work is the design manual of crisis communication, which will be used when an extraordinary event in the company in order to support decision making in communication during a crisis.
